Our Story

Tanzform is a brand fusing streetwear with club culture, call it clubwear. Tanzform is created by a collective of DJs and producers based in Berlin, inspired by years of dancing and performing in clubs world wide. 

Our brand is inspired from the realness of vinyl culture, we continue to press and distribute records while crafting apparel with the same ethos. Built to last and destined to become future vintage.

We believe culture is transmitted through real artefacts like clothing or a vinyl record, which are physical objects that embody values, customs and knowledge of a group. By creating and using these artefacts, people can transmit cultural information, a process called cultural transmission. 

Our name comes from the German word for dancing (Tanzen) and the transformation you undergo while clubbing:

The dance floor brings people together in good spirit. You meet new friends, maybe a partner, and you learn about society by encountering different (sub)cultures and people from all walks of life, each of us contribute with their own story and energy to make the party—and our world—a unique place.

So letting yourself go and sharing an experience with other people (fellow ravers) helps you understand yourself and society more. It changes our views on each other, making us more empathic, open-minded and connected. 

Therefore we encourage curiosity and connection through dialogue or while busting some moves. Dancing is essential for social-development, and not only for entertainment. By wearing Tanzform you show the world that you dance and share inclusive values.
